The Northeast District of the Ohio Music Teachers Association is dedicated to the advancement of music study and professionalism among music teachers of all instruments.  Our membership includes independent music teachers, college faculty members, and concert artists. The festivals, recitals, and master classes we offer each year give students a range of performance opportunities for musical growth. Our teachers benefit from local programs and workshops, as well as from state and national conventions, all of which allow for collaboration and professional growth. We currently have more than 70 members, and our district covers the counties of Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Erie, Huron, Lorain, and Ashtabula.

MTNA, the Music Teachers National Association, is our national affiliate and was founded in 1876. It is the oldest organization for professional music teachers of all instruments and voice. OMTA was founded in 1879 and is the Ohio affiliate of MTNA.

We look forward to sharing our love of music with you and your students!
