I definitely agree about recordings! In 2015, I started recording as much as possible. Not only did I start noticing (and fixing) specific memory spots, but invariably, I made tons of progress between adjacent takes, even on the same day, in areas outside of just memory. I should definitely suggest this to my students more! :-)
