This festival is open to students of
instruments and voice. There will be a separate division for adult
performers. The festival is non-competitive and should not be
confused with the auditions.
Qualified judges will give each performer
an evaluation, certificate and ribbon. Memorization is optional,
but a separate music score must be provided for the judge. Measures
are to be numbered. Music scores will be returned to the student.
Photocopies of music are not permitted unless they comply with
U.S. Copyright Law. Please photocopy the enclosed form or go to
the website, www.neomta.org, to download the entry forms.

$15.00 solo/ensemble for students of an OMTA member; $30.00 solo/ensemble
for students of non-OMTA members. Please make the check payable
to OMTA. (Each solo and ensemble performer pays the full fee.)

Classifications:

up to three students to perform in this unique recital.
Deadline for submission of performers
is December 15, 2008.
There will be a maximum of 25 performers.
Please use this formal recital opportunity
for students you wish to encourage, praise, lift up, highlight,
or simply represent your studio. Beginners, intermediate and advanced
students should be considered. Performers are asked to dress for
the stage. They will gather backstage and enter and depart from
this traditional platform.

- The Scholarship Competition is an adjudicated event with awards going to the top performers and composers.
- Students may compete in only one instrument category.
- All winners will perform at the Northeast district Winners’ Recital on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Cleveland State University.
- The decisions of the judges are final. The judges have the prerogative of dividing the award money in the event of a tie, or of not awarding the money.
- The use of Xerox copies of scores at the auditions will disqualify an applicant.

- The Buckeye Audition is a district competition for the elementary, junior and senior performer.

- Entry fees for the state finals will be paid by the Northeast District for the winners in each division at the member teacher rate only ($40 elementary, $50 junior, $60 senior) Winners who study with non- member teachers will be required to make up the entry fee difference.

- The Playathon is a fund-raising event that benefits Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital.
- The Playathon is open to all teachers and students.
- Before the Playathon, the students obtain pledges from family, friends and neighbors.
- The teacher is required to attend when their students are performing.
