Welcome to the OMTA-Northeast District

The Northeast District of the Ohio Music Teacher's Association is dedicated to the advancement of music study and professionalism among music teachers. Festivals and recitals give students numerous performance opportunities but the benefits for teachers are great as well. Opportunities to collaborate with fellow teachers in a learning environment are available through state and national conventions and local meetings. We currently have more than 60 members and our counties include Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Erie, Huron, Lorain, and Ashtabula.

OMTA was founded in 1879 and is affiliated with MTNA, the Music Teacher's National Association. Founded in 1876, MTNA is the oldest organization for professional music teachers with members ranging from independent music teachers to college professors and concert artists.
